We are back from a lovely week in Cornwall, and this afternoon I made these gift boxes using some funky templates I found. What do you think?
I think I will use them on our stalls that we will have on the weekends running up to Christmas. I know, it seems early, but it’s time to get cracking on Christmas prep!
We will also be relocating in a few weeks (not far from where we are now) and are making up boxes for another purpose (!) so we will need time to sort ourselves out in our new home before the Christmas fun begins!…
I made a one-off skin balm for a friend of mine as per request. They’re not currently available on the website, but they usually come in a 50ml tin and will hopefully be back later in the year… The skin balm is full of natural goodness to help dry, damaged or eczema prone skin. Also makes a great balm for lips or feet, or all over!
Here at The Soap Cabin, we care about the environment and try to re-use and recycle where we can. As well as using recycled labels, boxes and shredded paper, we also hang on to any packaging we get through deliveries of supplies, such as cardboard boxes and jiffy bags, and use this again for packaging up orders to send out to customers. I recently bought a portable tap dance practice board for home (my main hobby!) and the box contained SO MUCH bubble wrap, so I have kept all of it to use for sending out orders! It saves us buying bubble wrap (not sure I have ever had to buy any), and it also stops it going straight in the bin.
I was thinking about our body butter tins recently. Once you’ve finished with it, what do you do with it? Well, why not wash it out and re-purpose it?
Refill it with another product
Use it for storing jewellery, buttons, pins, stationery
Use it to store sweeties
Make a candle and set it in the tin
Turn it into a gift for someone else
(Or, we are happy to take back your empties if you are coming to one of our craft markets)
So THIS is happening this Saturday on Chorleywood Common! We haven’t booked a spot this year, but as per last weekend, we’re going to try and pop along to check it out. I believe this year, following feedback they will be arranging stalls in ‘zones’. (You may recall that we were dwarfed last year amongst a load of charity stalls, so people avoided us because they were scared of being collared to sign up for something).
If we make it, I will try and take some photos to share with you.
