Hey, I hope everything is well with you and that you’re coping with this third lockdown. Thankfully we are on our way to coming out of the restrictions, so I hope we can soon be face-to-face again at some of our favourite community events.
As you know, we closed our shop a bit longer than usual over Christmas/New Year so that we had time to regroup and have a think about what we do next. Thanks again to everyone that supported us throughout the last year – it was so easy to feel like giving up, but your orders kept us going. One thing we were able to do in the break was to have a soap stamp made of our palm tree logo! We’ve been thinking about doing this for a while, but never got around to it until now. We hope you like our soaps and their new look 🙂 We’re also thinking about bringing back one of the soaps we used to make, and perhaps introducing some new ones too. Watch this space!
Things have been really strange for all of us since locking down March, but I hope you’re doing OK. Obviously all our events that we planned to be at in the Spring and Summer months we’re cancelled as we all retreated indoors for a few months due to this scary Covid-19 pandemic.
Seeing this as a good time to reflect on what we do at The Soap Cabin, and all the things we want to do but haven’t had the time to really concentrate on, we’re using this opportunity to work on changing our soap making methods and recipes to make an even better product made from scratch that we can be even more excited about!
To help this process along, we currently have a massive everything-must-go sale on our glycerine soaps, until they’re all gone. Check out our online shop now as they’re going fast!… and watch this space for what comes next!
Today is my first day of making soap in our new surroundings! After cleaning the kitchen thoroughly and nominating cupboards for storing supplies, I am ready to crack on with making Soap Cabin products again!
It’s always strange starting again somewhere new (at least we’re roughly in the same area), but it is also fun to set up your space how you want it. We have more kitchen worktop space compared to before, which is good and less restrictive.
Next job is to finish sorting out my new office/craft room! I used to have a lot of natural light and an amazing leafy view in the old place, which I miss a little, but it has definitely been a good move. Also a good opportunity for a clear out!
I’m currently plugging away at getting products made for our upcoming Christmas markets (Chalfont Crafty Collective and St Clement Danes School Chorleywood), as you can see from the photos above and below. I need to wrap and label these soaps and start on the next lot this weekend, as well as getting on with my regular wholesale order. I’m also thinking about what new products we can introduce this Winter…
We’re really looking forward to these two local events because we haven’t been able to take part in many markets most of the year due to putting our place on the market and now awaiting a move date. Hopefully this won’t happen too close to Christmas, which is the busiest time of year! Anyway, exciting times!
Check out our website for dates of events we’ll be at, or to purchase online 🙂
