It has been one heck of a year this year, but we just wanted to say thank you for continuing to buy our goodies throughout the pandemic, and for following and liking our social media posts.
We’ve been doing this Soap Cabin thing for a long time now, and have decided to take a longer Christmas break than usual from making and selling (and all the other stuff!), and so we’ll be closed until the end of January. As well as a break, it also gives us a bit of time to think about what we want to do next. We started out in 2011 by selling our soaps at boutique fairs and craft markets, and this is our absolute favourite thing.
This year we would have been at our regular monthly gig, the Red Kite Craft Market in Little Chalfont, along with bigger annual events like Denham Village Fayre, Croxley Revels, and many of the Christmas fairs that usually take place. As you’re aware, all of these types of events were all cancelled due to the pandemic, but we really hope that these events can come back next year. It’s all a bit unknown at the moment, but there is the great news of the vaccine that is being administered as we speak. Obviously it will take time, but it will be so nice to see people at our stall once again! I’m going to have a think about how we do testers and samples at our table because it won’t be a good idea for lots of hands to be handling soap testers!
Here’s to a much better and more positive 2021 full of fun events and hopefully see you in person soon… Happy New Year! x
Our next Christmas event will be the York House School Festive Shopping Evening in Sarratt, Herts
This evening I’ve been getting things together for the Chalfont Crafty Collective Christmas Market this coming Saturday, our first market in MONTHS!
I updated and printed off our sales ledgers, a photo of our Christmas stall layout, created a newsletter sign-up sheet, got out a pack of our new business cards.
I suddenly remembered that our jute banner is out of date as we’re no longer “made in Rickmansworth”, so I printed off and laminated our full colour logo. I do love to laminate ????
I really need to make sure we’re prepared as it’s been such a long time since our last fair.
Can you believe it’s November already?
In anticipation of our upcoming Christmas fairs we have been busy making products and ordering all the supplies we need for making our stall extra special this year.
As usual we will be selling at St Clement Danes School in Chorleywood at their annual Christmas fair in December. Because we do that event every year, it’s important to keep things fresh and interesting, with something different on offer to last year (as well as our usual products).
Because we are apparently heading towards a cashless society, we have just invested in a PayPal card reader, so we should be able to take card and contactless payments this time around! Yay!
We are really interested in The Kitchen Croxley’s Christmas Shopping evenings in November and December, but we anticipate moving house in a couple of weeks, so probably a good idea to calm it down this year ????…
Right, back to work!
